~Celestial Being Recruitment~
Sep. 9th, 2011 04:43 pmDo you want to be a borderline-terrorist, hang out with an alcoholic commander and pilots who don't understand basic human emotions and social function, and be derrided by the rest of the crew on Stacy? Then Celestial Being may be the place for you!
...Okay, it's not really that bad (except the bit where everyone but Chris is crazy). They are recruiting, though. With Feldt gone, the Ptolemaios is down to a ship-side crew of two (Sumeragi - commander, terrible pilot, though she's working on that bit; Chris - hacker, programmer, and CIC), on a ship that usually has a crew of at least five or six. Suffice to say Lirath was kind of an eye-opener to 'okay, we really can't do this alone'.
Most needed are a mechanic who can handle Gundam-level mobile suit tech and won't ask too many questions about the GN drives, and a gunner, though those are no means the only bridge crew openings. There's also space for other Gundam-sized mobile suits, provided the linear catapults can be modified to fit them.
There is, however, a catch (of course, there's always a catch). Celestial Being's goal in the game is a bit different from everyone elses. They're main goal is stop the war, not win the war, so their objective doesn't line up perfectly with the crews.
Plot wise, in the general short term, at least, they'll be looking more at why and how this whole war started. Which basically means them doing an independent investigation into the Ohm, the Daligig, the Catastrophists, and (to a lesser extent) the GIA. Exactly how that'll play out and what they'll find is kind of up and the air and needs to be discussed with the mods first, but it'll likely involve beating answers out of people via giant robots and naked sparkle space. That's the general direction they'd most likely be taking.
As a note, just because the Meisters are anti-social gits doesn't mean that you have to be. Joining (or even just occasionally working with) CB won't preclude you from talking to whomever, or participating in whatever other plots you want to be in, or things of that nature. Even if they don't consider themselves to be under the rule of the ship government, they won't be starting any insurrections any time soon. Just be advised that there'll be certain pieces of information that'll be kept off-limits, but otherwise they won't be that much different on ship than any other group.
Sumeragi will be doing most of the recruiting, ICly (as Meisters are not hired for their strong social skills), looking for people who are competent but express doubts about Command, the amount of information they're given about the war, the war itself, etc. OOCly, if you have a character interested in this, I'm more than happy to help brainstorm ideas to bring that character to the attention of the Ptolemy's crew.
